Stuck in the Middle is an energetic and entertaining format which involves one performer being ‘stuck’ on stage for the entirety of the performance, with no option but to go along with every offer, character, scene, genre or even Theatresports game that is being thrown at them.
It incorporates elements of Long and Short form, with some scenes being short, sharp, stand alone scenes, and others becoming ongoing storylines that recur throughout the performance. The scenes transition around the central performer with no explanation as to what the new scene is. The main cast’s job is to create a range of scenes to stretch, surprise, inspire and showcase the central performer. The central performer’s job is to Accept and make bold choices.
The Workshop will focus on the various elements that help this format fly.
